Tad Rhinos Superleague XIV Preview - Round 16

None of the predicting three saw the Rhinos loss in Catalan coming. Crystal balls must have been in for a service!

How will they fare this week as the Rhinos take on the Giants at Headingley, Saints welcome the Tigers and the Bulls travel to a rejuvinated Wolves.

Here are my thoughts on this weekend's action in Super League XIV, Round 15;

KR v. QUINS

The Quins keep on going, picking up some good wins and sit pretty in the table. Rovers were poor last week at Huddersfield and were lucky not to lose by more. Rovers pack goes OK but they struggle for real quality in the three quarters. Quins tend to grind out wins and are a solid side from 1 to 17 and will see this as a winnable game. I can see Rovers eeking out a narrow victory at home though.

SAINTS v. TIGERS

Saints have improved last seasons squad, are you watching GH? And keep on churning out impressive wins. Tigers are in danger of losing more than Peter Andre in the divorce court as they slump from defeat to defeat. With Shenton and Westerman away with England I can't see them getting anywhere close to Saints.

CRUSADERS v. WARRIORS

If A.P. was still around he would describe Wigan as the ultimate flat track bullies. They flatter to deceive and this will be another example as they will hammer the new boys. I think the Crusaders have a great future but this season was always going to be tough. Least they gave us all the giggle of the season by winning at Odsal.

WILDCATS v. FC

Oh dear, these two are about as much use to Superleague as a beautician is to Susan Boyle. Non-existant tackling, powder puff defence, poor disciplne and loads of average players. Give this a miss and watch some crappy talent show usually reserved for women.

WOLVES v. BULLS

According to Steve MacBanana the Bulls are set to launch a challenge for the top 4. Well Stevie boy, there is more chance of Katie Price giving up alcohol and sex than your boys of making the top 4. I went to the Bulls v Wakey game last week and God were both teams dreadful. The Wolves go from strength to strength and will hammer the Bulls and leave MacBanana to come out with the same rubbish he has used all season.

RHINOS v. GIANTS

This is a massive game for both sides. Leeds are without Peacock, McGuire and Hall, all big losses while the Giants miss Big Eorl and the influential Moore. Leeds have rarely hit top form this season, muddling through games with a very limited gameplan. I think after most of the team had no pre-season Bluey is hoping to muddle through the first 3/4 of the season and then hope to step up a couple of gears for the build up to the play offs. We will see in time. What is obvious is Leeds were light in the forwards before the season kicked off and the loss of Kirke and Peacock will not do them much good here. Bailey is powderpuff and really needs to step in here and prove he can do it when it matters and when his team need him. i won't hold my breath mind.

The Giants have a good pack, solid halves and a pretty decent back line. If the Giants have the confidence not to be beaten before they start I'm tipping them to add more misery to the Rhinos already below average season.
