Tad Rhinos Superleague XIV Preview - Round 15

The webmasters mad dash to Barcelona, for charidee, meant that we all missed out on the predictions of the intrepid three for round fourteen.

We're putting that right this weekend as the third placed Rhinos travel to Perpignan, the leaders Saints take on Hull FC, and second placed KR are at the Giants after their painful cup exit last weekend.

Read more here....

Here are my thoughts on this weekend's action in Super League XIV, Round 15;

GIANTS v. KR

The Giants seem to be coming back into a little bit of form as last weekends great win over the Tigers showed. Rovers were involved in a classic against Warrington but must put that behind them as they try to consolidate there place near the top of the table. These are two similer teams, big packs, decent half backs and pace in the backs. This is a real toughie to call but i'm tipping Rovers to get back on track and win this by 10.

FC v. SAINTS

Hull are going downhill faster than an MP's reputation at the moment. If they don't get split down the middle it's on the edges. Leeds targeted the centres on tuesday and were rewarded time and again. I see Saints doing the same and the likes of Gilmour and Gidley will have a field day. Agar to move nearer the dole queue as Saints win by 20.

WARRIORS v. REDS

The teams meet for the second week in a row after the Warriors won the cup clash last week. Salford have a pretty good set of forwards and a classy half back in Myler. Where they struggle is in the backs with little class in there. Wigan are an average side. A mid table side at best, a team who are only consistent in there inconsistency. My crystal ball see's Wwigan being to strong again and I fancy the warriors by 16.

TIGERS v. WOLVES

Castleford are falling away after a great start and need a win like a labour MP needs a fire in the telegraph offices. Warrington had a great, gutsy win at rovers in the cup and Smiths influence is starting to come through. Cas should have won against Leeds and the Giants but didn't have the class or guile to win either, Sherwin is a big loss for them but chase has been outstanding. Wolves are on a roll, the silly mistakes have been cut out and they are playing a team. Another tough call but I'm going for the Wolves to carry on there run and to win by 10.

DRAGONS v. RHINOS

The boys face a tough trip to the south of France this week where the Dragons are a different proposition on there home soil. The Dragons have a big tough pack and some great backs whilst Bosc is there talisman. The Rhinos are getting better each week. The fact most of the team didn't have a pre season meant a hit and miss start to the season but a couple of weeks off has seen a real upsurge in form. I can see, and hope!!!!!!, Leeds carry on where they left off against Hull and winning this by 14.

BULLS v. WILDCATS

An interesting game this. the Bulls had a week off while the Wildcats got there season back on track with a big win in Wales. This really could go either way, the Bulls have been dreadful, apart from the Saints and Leeds games, all season. A decent pack but poor halves and some woeful backs. Wakefield, with Brough and Drew, have the two class acts in this game and if the Wakey pack can match the Bulls then I can see Wakey getting a win by 8.

QUINS v. CRUSADERS

The Quins are are sneaking in under the radar, with a good run of wins seeing them move up the table. They are a solid no frills side. Decent forwards, Dorn and Orr in the halves and some exciting, solid backs. The Crusaders are, as was expected, this seasons whipping boys and I can see them getting a hiding in this one too. Quins by 20.
