Hull of a Task Ahead
Posted by Number 2 on May 25 2009 - 19:12:16

Cod Father
Tuesday Night Football courtesy of the broadcast partner at Headingley as the Rhinos take on a Hull FC side that started the season on fire but has slipped away alarmingly in recent weeks.

The Rhinos are currently going through a lull in fixtures, it's been 10 days since the "Cup Final" win at the Jungle and it will be another 10 days before the lads are back in action again.

We preview the game here...

Rhinos Head Coach Brian McClennan has named an unchanged 19 from the victory at the Jungle in the last round. The only query being if Ryan Bailey, who featured in the reserve grade last time out, will force his way back into the 17. Otherwise it could be the same 17 which takes the field for the Rhinos for the third consecutive match.

Keith Senior will make this 300th appearence for the club in this game and that comes hot on the back of signing for the Rhinos until the end of 2010.

The Rhinos 19 named on Sunday were Webb, Donald, Smith, Senior, Hall, McGuire, Burrow, Leuluai, Buderus, Peacock, Jones-Buchanan, Lauitiiti, Sinfield, Diskin, Bailey, Kirke, Ablett, Burgess, Watkins.

Hull FC welcome back Lee Radford and Shaun Berrigan after injury, meanwhile Gareth Raynor and Motu Tony are in line to make their first appearances of 2009. Jodie Broughton could be the one to miss out, currently in his second loan spell at the KC from the Rhinos he was a tryscorer in the defeat to Warrington last time out. Hull arrive at Headingley in sixth, having won 7 and lost 6 of their 13 games so far.

The Hull FC 19 named on Sunday were Berrigan, Broughton, Burnett, Calderwood, Dowes, Houghton, R. Horne, King, Lee, Maloney, Moa, Radford, Raynor, Thorman, Tickle, Thackray, Tony, Whiting, Yeaman.

Three Black and Whites to watch;

The teams met in a preseason friendly at Headingley in January for Jamie Jones-Buchanan and the visitors won 20-16. Last season the Rhinos won 30-04 at the KC Stadium on Easter Monday in what was one of the performances of the season.

In the return game at Headingley the Rhinos were trailing 18-4 at half time before a second half recovery saw the Rhinos run out 38-22 winners. Prediction
Rhinos 34 12 Hull FC

Could be a tough game this for the Rhinos as they look to break a 3 game losing run at Headingley. I just expect them to have too much in the tank though for a Hull FC side that can blow hot and cold.

The bookies are giving the visitors at 14 point start. I personally don't think that will be quite enough.

The forecast for tomorrow pretty decent to be honest although it could be a little warmer for the time of year.

The Reserve Grade team take on their counterparts from Hull FC in the curtain raiser, kick off for that one is 5.45pm

See you there and enjoy the game.
