Tad Rhinos Superleague XIV Preview - Round 13

After a weekends rest and recouperation we are right back into the thick of Superleague as we hit the game before half-way in the season.

Round 13 will be unlucky for some, but who will it be that misses out on two points in the increasingly intense battle at the top.

Here are my thoughts on this weekend's action in Super League XIV, Round 13;

Cas have their cup final on Friday as the Champions make the trip back in time to the Jungle. This has all the hallmarks of a great game and I canít wait. Cas have faltered after a great start, they blew it against Hull in Scotland and sneaked past Halifax with a golden point. Leeds looked good in the first half against the Dragons but faded in the second. A really difficult one to predict and although it goes against the grain Iím tipping Cas by 8.

Both sides will fancy this one. Wigan have had a good couple of weeks while Rovers have steadily climbed the table. Both teams have weaknessí however. Jake Webster continues his turnstile impression for Rovers while Tim Smith does the same for Wigan. A tight game in prospect and Iím going for Wigan by 6 with home advantage.

The teams meet for the second time in 6 days on Saturday and this preview was done before the cup game had been played. Dragons are a different beast at home while Saints seem to have hit the wall recently, probably a legacy of the world cup taking effect.

I fancy the dragons to win by 10 and Saints league woes to continue.

How Hull beat Cas last week is anybodys guess. Credit to them for hanging in but they were totally outclassed. There line and tackling was shocking and I fancy the Wolves to come back with the points and keep there recent decent run going.

Wolves by 14.

The Bulls should keep there revival going against the leagues whipping boys on Sunday. Celtic are improving too but it wonít be enough. The Bulls are still an average team and I expect a really poor game. Bulls to win by 20.

Wakey have really dropped a couple of levels in the last month while Quins have started to find some real consistency. Dorn and Orr are a good combination in the halves for the Quins while I feel Brough is too much of an individual and seems to disrupt what wakey are trying to do.

Quins by 14.

This should be a win for the Giants and another chance to move up the table. The Reds are starting to find there feet in SL but the Giants will be too big, too powerful and too quick for Salford. Get your money on the Giants to win by 20 or more.
