Sponsors Get Smithy and Hand Over £410 to Charity
Posted by southstander on April 22 2005 - 15:43:24

Now Sponsored
There are two pieces of great news for sponsors today.

Firstly, we have swapped the now departed Wayne McDonald for no other than Rhinos supremo and archuitect of our success, Tony Smith.

Secondly, we have raised £410 between us for the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund.

After Waynes departure yesterday to Wigan Warriors, Rob Oates agreed to move our sponsorship to Tony Smith. 2005 Sponsors will now be given credit in the programme against the name of the most successful ever Rhinos coach, and Tony will be our man for the rest of the season.

Waynes 2005 shirt will still be awarded at the end of the season, once we've drawn it.

With 164 sponsors, each contributing £2.50, I've today made a donation of £410 to the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund on all our behalfs. With my gift aid (diddling the chancellor out of a bit of dosh) this means that we've actually donated in excess of £500 to a cause which touched the hearts of everyone at Christmas.
