Tad Rhinos Superleague XIV Previews - Round 7

It was the weekend when the Rhinos and Hull FC both lost their 100% records and none of our three predictors got both of those right. Tad picked the Saints to topple the Rhinos but even he thought it would be closer that it turned out to be.

Here goes week seven and our intrepid pundits make their punts at the winners and margins.

Here are my thoughts on this weekend's action in Super League XIV, Round 7;

RHINOS v. DRAGONS

The Champs look to bounce back against the Dragons after last weeks first loss of the season. Leeds have Diskin cleared by the disciplinary but it wouldnít shock me to see some of the others rested before next weeks re-match with Saints. the Dragons have looked poor this season and I can only see a Leeds win.

WILDCATS v. SAINTS

What a terrible week for Wakefield and you cannot put into words the turmoil that must be at the club. They can go two ways on Friday. Come out all fired up or be disjointed and minds elsewhere, which is understandable. Saints will be battered from last week and I think could be a player or two down. Saints to win but a close game. Saints by 10.

WARRIORS v. GIANTS

The Warriors will face a tough task against a classy and tough Giants team on Friday. For the first time in years the Giants look a team, a good pack, creative half backs and a strong back line. They just lack a little consistency. The Warriors flatter to deceive and who knows which Wigan team will turn up on Friday. A tight encounter with Wigan to nick it.

'QUINS v. FC

Another tough one to call and I look forward to watching this SKY game on Saturday. Quins have either been very good or very poor. Hull, last Friday apart, have been very good. Quins were demolished at Huddersfield last time out but I expect them to bounce back, as I also expect Hull to do. Another tight one to call but Iím going for Hull to pinch it by 10.

TIGERS v. BULLS

After last week McBanana seems to expect the Bulls to march on to SL glory if you believe what the papers say. In truth the Bulls were poor in France, only the Dragons were poorer on the night. Cas pulled off a supurb win at the K.C. Stadium and confidence must be sky high in the camp. Both sides have a decent pack but Cas are far superior in the backs and Hudson far outweighs anything Newton brings to the party.

KR v. REDS

Rovers were very poor by there standards at Warrington and need to bounce back against Salford. Salford have been this seasons whipping boys and I can see that trend continuing this week. Rovers are far superior all over the park and I canít see Salford covering the spread let alone winning.

WOLVES v. CRUSADERS

The Wire could not have an easier game to gain a little more confidence after last weeks good win over HKR. Celtic have shown an appetite for SL and have put in some good displays. Tony Smith seems to have laid down the law and Warrington seem to be more of a team, perhaps with Briers on the bench it helps.

Either way a comfortable win for the Wolves by 22.
