Tad Rhinos Superleague XIV Previews - Round 6

Tad did well again last week with a total of seven points, Oldham Rhino and only managing to scrape six each.

We're at it again as we look ahead to round six including, for the second week running, the monster tie of the round as the Rhinos take on the Saints at Knowsley Road.

Here are my thoughts on this weekend's action in Super League XIV, Round 6;

Both sides have shocked people with there great starts to the season, not least themselves I'd imagine. Hulls' pack have been the key, giving a rejuvenated Horne lots of space. Thormans kicking game has been a great asset too. Cas havenít the pack that hull have but Shenton, Dixon and Owen have been key players for them. Hudson is the one who dictates for me though and he is only rated 50/50 for this week.

A real basement battle in store at the Willows on Friday. Salford have been poor, as expected, this season but Wigan were expected to be chasing top spot this season. Wigan were simply awful at HQ on Friday, notwithstanding Leeds great display. Handling errors abounded, no structure, missed tackles and a discernable lack of confidence contributed to there loss. I expect them to beat Salford and Nobby to announce the league is won in October and not March. Again!

The big one! The two premier sides battle it out on Friday and a crunching game is in prospect. Saints will be looking to get their season going after not really hitting any sort of form while Leeds gave there best display of the season last week. Both sides should be at near full strength and a titanic game is in prospect. For me Saints weaknesses are in the backs. A lack of pace, and some suspect handling under the high ball, should see Leeds peppering the flanks. Saints will try and get Leeds on the back foot with Roby the key man. Leeds will try and dominate in the forwards to give McGuire and Burrow the room to manoeuvre. Sinfield will be the key man for Leeds, as per usual.

With nothing really at stake but bragging rights this is a real tough one to call. For me Leeds are the better side but I have a feeling home advantage may just pay, although I hope Iím wrong!

Last season must seem like years away to the French boys as they have had there backsides kicked a few times this season. They really need to get back to basics and get there pack going again. The Bulls have never lost in France but they have been awful this season, simply dreadful. This is a must win game for both teams and I fancy the Dragons to pick up the points.

Wakefield keep coming with the wins and Brough made a welcome return for them from the bench last week. The Crusaders keep making a game of it in there debut season and they will get a win somewhere down the line. But not this week.

Both sides had a great win last week and are looking to push on this week. The Giants were outplayed for a lot of the game at Cas but were supurb in defence and clinical on the break. The 'Quins demolished Warrington at the stoop and confidence will be sky high in the camp. A tight game but itís the Giants for me by 10.

Dear me Warrington, where do you start. Early as it is I suspect Tony Smith may write this season off and look to offload as many players as he can and get set for next season. No heart, no backbone. Warrington have been on the slide for a few seasons and it will take a long time to get them on an even keel let alone as challengers. HKR have been consistent all season. A big pack and Dobson kicking teams to death. HKR to add to Smiths woes and to win by 12.
