Bud to Debut?
Posted by southstander on February 11 2009 - 07:02:37

It is looking increasingly like Rhinos new signing for 2009, Danny Buderus, will make his Rhinos debut ahead of schedule.

Speculation is that Brian McClennan will name the Aussie hooker in his nineteen man squad for the visit of a pumped up Wakefield, still celebrating their opening weekend win away at Wigan Warriors.

This great news is tempered by some more disappointing injury news coming out of Headingley.

Danny was not expected to be back until the end of February after suffering a bicep injury in his last game down-under. His original schedule saw the target as the World Club Challenge but a faster than expected recovery means that he has a chance of pulling on the Rhinos number nine shirt this friday, a mouthwatering prospect for all Leeds fans.

Ryan Bailey is also likely to get a recall to the nineteen after shaking off his injury but it is bad news for Rob Burrow who is still struggling with a back injury and rated by Bluey as 'doubtful' for friday night. Keith Senior joins Rob on the treatment table after picking up a knock in fridays season opening win over the Celtic Crusaders and he is also highly doubtful for the game.

Neither Buderus or Bailey are happy swaps for Keith in the squad so I'd expect even more re-jigging in the nineteen named later today as we look to consolidate our top spot with a win over the Wildcats which wuold see us two points clear.
