2005 Sponsors List Grand Final Winner Gets his Prize

Our Champion

It was a long hard summer for more than just the Superleague players. We had our own titanic battle in the Predictions league.

Twenty-seven rounds of matches followed by an intensly fought rounds of play-off saw us crown our Grand Final winner, and just for once it wasn't a Baby Rhino!

We bring you the final results here.

After twenty-seven weeks of battle our top six was decided and the all important play-offs could begin. Our Minor Premiership winner was 'rodhutch', winning the prize on a countback play-off back to round 25 when he'd scored more that rival 'rhinos69'. For finishing top of the pile 'rodhutch' won a 2009 playing shirt, but the battle was only half over on the way to the ultimate prize and being crowned Grand Final winner.

One thing which will have worried all of the competitors was the presence of a Baby Rhino, admittedly in sixth spot and with everything to do, but nevertheless it was a threat.

In the first week of play-offs Oldham Rhino defeated Baby Rhino II and Deano's Rhinos caused the upset of the round beating fourth placed ennjay from fifth.

In the second week, rodhutch beat rhinos69 to get the first place in the Grand Final whilst Deano's Rhinos giant killed again and overcame Oldham Rhino to take on rhinos69 for the last Grand Final spot.

In the final eliminator it was rhinos69's faith in the Rhinos which saw him overcome the doubting Deano's Rhinos who, shame on him, had tipped Wigan Warriors to defeat Leeds at Headingley. So the Grand Final was now set with the winner takes all between 'rodhutch' and 'rhinos69', for ultimate honour and kudos.

Once again Rhinos69 stuck with his beloved Leeds and backed an eight point win (how prophetic) but rodhutch, the minor premier, tipped fellow minor premiers Saints to follow the form book and pick up the trophy.

Wer all know what happened next, and the great Rhinos victory saw rhinos69 win the coveted Grand Final and collect the fully autographed shirt (pictured) from the back-to-back Champions.

Well done rhinos69!
