The Damo Bit - 10th March 2010

by DAMO-LEEDS

Hull rugby league has prospered in the two-top-flight-clubs era and Damo has put on his thinking cap about whether Leeds would also benefit from such a situation.

An expansionist (within Leeds) Damo is here....

Opener

The Rhinos turned it around after a very tight first half to massacre the clowns at Headingley in Round five. The comprehensive nature of the second half performance was very sweet indeed and despite a number of key players missing through injury we showed what a poor side the visitors are this season.

The photographers from rlphotos.com were at HQ and sent us these photos.

Davids MoM
by David Bywater

After a couple of season off, we've once again asked Davidbyw to cast his eye over the Rhinos performances of the weekend and pass numerical judgement on the players.

Bound to be controversial, and to spark debate on the message boards, we'll keep tabs over the season and see if Davids appraisal of player of the season tallies with your Man-of-the-match votes.

Two Tries

It was a Rhinos side peppered with changes that entered onto the 'Turnip Field' in the 'Stadium of Broken Clocks'.

Kirke, Delaney, Sinfield, Ablett and Donald, all names you'd expect in the seventeen and all missing from a makeshift side stuck together to take on one of the seasons struggling sides, the Harlequins.

Leeds needed to put a run of poor form behind them and regain some much needed confidence ahead of the long campaign ahead while Brian McDermotts men were justhoping not to be on the end of the Rhinos WCC backlash.

We bring you all of the action here......

After the Storm

Big Mc
Are Leeds Rhinos a club in crisis?

An indifferent start to Superleague XV; the loss of Sinfield, Donald and Ablett through injury; Keith Senior charged by the RFL for comments in losing the World Club Challenge to fourteen man Melbourne Storm; and a Headingley pitch which is really only fit for planting turnips.

Tonight the Champions have to put all of that behind them and start the long journey to Old Trafford with a win over Brian McDermotts struggling Harlequins.

We preview the game here...

New Tipster
by rhinoms

We've had an early season departure. Tad has hung up his predicting boots and made way for our new super tipster rhinoms.

Based on his first week with the poisoned pen it looks like 'the king is dead, long live the king'. See what you think.

The Damo Bit - 4th March 2010

by DAMO-LEEDS

Like the rest of us, Damo is gutted about the Rhinos loss in the World Club Challenge, however, he realises that Leeds Rugby is about a lot more than what happends on the field.

This week Damo looks behind the scenes and applauds the 'Leeds Rugby Foundation'.

A congratulatory Damo is here...

No Love Lost

The game that the Rhinos had been building for turned out to be a cracker, but one from which we came away with nothing.

Aussie champs the Melbourne Storm took their time, especially at the tackle, and ran out by eight point winners in a game where Leeds lost more by indiscipline than by poor play.

Leeds need to put this behind them and get on with the important business of the season, a fourth Old Trafford win.

The photographers from rlphotos.com were at Elland Road and sent us these photos.

Rhinos Downed by Storm

100%er

The shocking weather forcast for tonights World Club Challenge didn't materialise with light rain greeting the player onto the pitch. One storm hadn't materialised and the twenty-five thousand plus Rhinos supporters jammed into the 'limited leg room' seating at Elland Road hoped that the storm wearing purple and white would also be a damp squib.

It was north versus south as the champions came face to face with only one side going to take home the silverware.
