That's Why We're Double Champions!
Posted by southstander on October 06 2008 - 09:56:20

Champions

Only in our wildest dreams did we think that we'd be seeing our lads picking up the silverware for a second consecutive year. All week the papers had been full of talk of a Saints walkover, Leeds were given no hope, Anderson already had the trophy in his grasp.

The Rhinos prepared quietly and thoroughly. McClennan knew what was to be done, and the lads timed their run-in with perfection.

Come the end of eighty minutes it was the Rhinos contingent that was beaming from ear-to-ear as the Saints players, staff and fans once again trudged home empty handed.

The photographers from rlphotos.com were at Old Trafford and sent us these photos.

Champions...Again!
Posted by southstander on October 05 2008 - 09:53:08

Champions

Mauled a fortnight ago at Knowsley Road, missing inspirational full back Brent Webb, and written off by the media and bookies alike, the Rhinos and their army of supporters travelled to Old Trafford more in hope than expectation.

Saints, humiliated in last years final, were confident of a big win to send their departing coach Daniel Anderson back home on a high. Saints fans expected silverware and their build up was full of talk of how many, rather than if.

On the night the Rhinos lads wanted it more, and we lifted the trophy for the second year running.

We bring you all of the action here......

Come On!!!!!!!

The Prize

So the big day has arrived. Old Trafford awaits for the Rhinos for the 4th time in 5 seasons.

If you are making your way over to Manchester for the game, have a safe journey. Fill the ground with Blue and Amber and get right behind the lads as they look to make history and achieve something no other Leeds team has ever done.

This is the Day. This is the Hour.

GO RHINOS!

Webb Out Of Grand Final
Posted by Number 2 on October 03 2008 - 12:44:16

Missing

A little over 24 hours before the engage Super League Grand Final kicks off, the Rhinos have today announced via the official website that star full back Brent Webb will take no part in the showpiece occasion against St Helens at Old Trafford tomorrow night

Webb has suffered a recurrance of the back injury that saw him miss the trip to Catalans, the Challenge Cup Semi Final and the defeat at Warrington.

Leeds have announced that no players will be added to the 19 man squad named yesterday so it could mean a big chance for Ryan Hall on the Old Trafford stage, with Lee Smith likely to move into the full back role.

Rhinos Underdogs for Season Finale
Posted by southstander on October 03 2008 - 09:24:50

Double Champs?

One year ago we'd secured our Grand Final place thanks to a win over Wigan after losing the first play-off match at St. Helens. It's déjà vu as the Rhinos head into this weekends Grand Final, only this year we're bigger underdogs.

The bookies have given the Champions an eight point start over the minor premiers, compared to four last year. It made little difference to us last year as we blitzed Daniel Andersons side to lift the biggest prize.

We preview the game here...

Rhinos Take Tough Route to Theatre of Dreams

Biff

It was a game that lived up to the pre-match hype as the Rhinos slugged it out, at time literally, to secure a victory over the Warriors and passage to this weekends Old Trafford Grand Final.

Two great sides battled out a classic in-front of an appreciative live and TV audience in what was a great advert for the game.

The photographers from rlphotos.com were at Headingley and sent us these photos.

Rhinos Win 'Classic' on Road to Old Trafford
Posted by southstander on September 26 2008 - 23:43:04

Brace

For the second year running the Warriors travelled to Headingley as both sides looked to secure the second place at Old Trafford to take on Saints in the Grand Final. Wigan again came in on the back of a good win, while the Rhinos had to pick themselves up after a Knowsley Road loss.

The match promised to be a belter, with no quarter asked or given, and by god we weren't disappointed.

We bring you all of the action here, enjoy......
