Rhinos fans will be delighted to see Brent Webb back in the starting line up after missing out a fortnight ago. Nick Scruton and Ali Lauiti'iti are the two to miss out from the twenty named earlier in the week. Danny McGuire is expected to play a full part despite suffering consussion for GB against France last weekend. The full eighteen man squad is; Webb, Donald, Toopi, Senior, Smith, McGuire, Burrow, Leuluai, Diskin, Peacock, Jones-Buchanan, Ellis, Sinfield, Thackray, Bailey, Kirke, Ablett and Tansey. My money would be on Ablett or Tansey to be the water carrier.
Most of the lads have had a fortnight off, but that also goes for out opponents.
Steve McNamara will be watching the swansong of an Odsal favourite, and a player who has tormented the Rhinos over the years. Les Vainikolo is making his last appearance before switching codes to try his hand at Union. Les will be without team-mate and SouthStand 'boo boy' Iestyn Harris who has failed to regain fitness in time. McNamanra has named his eighteen as; Newton, Langley, Vagana, James, Tupou, McKenna, Platt, Lynch, Evans, Deacon, Morrison, Solomona, Burgess, Henderson, Kopczak, Vainikolo, St Hilaire and McAvoy. No doubt we'll be trying to rattle Mr Newton and getting in the face of the other Rhinos old boy 'butterfingers' McAvoy.
Three Bovines to watch;
There is no doubting that the Millennium was magic for Leeds supporters, and a nightmare for our near neighbours. Tony Smiths record against the Bulls, and especially against his GB assistant coach McNamara is second to none. The Bulls have only won three out of the last twelve meetings, and it appears that despite their overall massive Superleague advantage, the balance of power is shifting to Leeds.
I have a feeling that the Bulls will want this too much and the fact that they have so much at stake is bound to manifest itself in a nervousness. It will be close, make no mistake, but I just fancy the Rhinos to pinch it...how nice if we did it in the dying seconds!
The bookies have given Bradford a six point start, two points more than they did at the last meeting at the Millenium. I think that this will be bang on the money.
There are just a few more hours to get your predictions in in the tipping competition.
Enjoy the match and roar on the lads.
