David Bywaters Player Appraisal - Hull FC Away
Posted by southstander on May 21 2007 - 16:03:19

Davids MoM
by David Bywater

After a couple of season off, we've once again asked Davidbyw to cast his eye over the Rhinos performances of the weekend and pass numerical judgement on the players.

Bound to be controversial, and to spark debate on the message boards, we'll keep tabs over the season and see if Davids appraisal of player of the season tallies with your Man-of-the-match votes.

Read more here....

Here are Davids thoughts about Sundays away game at Hull FC;

1Webb7Seems to be occupying the McGuire support role in scoring the tries. The try apart solid if unspectacular.
2Donald7Fair performance nothing great, nothing really bad.
3Toopi7Once again a big defensive effort but his attack is littered with errors unbecoming of an international player .
4Senior6The pass to Domic summed up his afternoon - not the player he once was and things can only get worse. Unfortunately due to lack of options we have no alternative.
27Hall7Very promising full debut - took one superb high ball and ran sensibly ball in hand.
6McGuire6The frustration at his lack of impact is beginning to show - a silly yellow card and a string of poor options were the order of Danny's day.
7Burrow7Worked as hard as anyone - unlucky not score when tackled by Briscoe. As the organisor much of the Rhino's attacking sterlity has to be laid at Rob's door.
16Bailey5Why does Ryan get a game every week. It certainly has nothing to do with quality on the pitch - woeful.
18Kirke6Under whelming - is Ian the real deal - I am not yet convinced.
10Peacock7A quandry - so much talent yet seldom appears to be fully committed. This game was typical of the lack of impact Jamie has shown since joining Leeds.
11Jones Buchanan8Did not deserve to be on a losing side - if effort alone won games Jamie would never be in a beaten side.
12Ellis6Second poor performance on the trot - his ball retention is a worry. Gareth looks like a week off would do him no harm
13Sinfield7Whether playing 9 suits the team I don't know but he is better than this year's Diskin model. His effort was as usual big - Smith needs to agree what Kevin's role truly is.
26Ablett7Good solid game - deserves a run in the side especially with Ali out for a few weeks.
15Thackray8My MOM - the only forward who made any impact on the Hull defence - deserve a start based on his form and contribution.
8Kylie6Anonymous - made virtually no impact - there has to be questions about his feasibility at this level.
23Tansey6Lively, instinctive and agile - certainly injected some life into proceedings.
