We went into the final with life imitating Predictions as the top 2 in the league went head-to-head. Like life as well, the league leader arrived at the final having finished well clear of everybody else, with second place battling through a tough final elimiator to reach this stage.
Did our final resemble the game at Old Trafford as well?
Not quite. Saints went in as overwhelming favourites and both players picked Saints for the win. By how many would determine the winner, and it came to pass that Saints prevailed by 22. This left our final score:
Baby Rhino II 10-12 barries dad
One goal kick, even a drop goal, either way at Old Trafford and it would all have been so very different, but after dominating the league since pretty early on, Baby Rhino II just couldn't sustain it for one last effort.
So our hearty congratulations go to barries dad, SouthStander.com Predictions Champion 2006, and winner of a 2006 shirt signed by the first team squad.
I hope you've all enjoyed it. I'll now be in talks over a contract extension for next year and if you've any suggestions, comments or anything regarding the competition, PM me and I'll take it all on board.
It just remains for me to give thanks to John from all competitors and myself for running an impeccible competition. Here's to a great competition next season.
