rhinoms Superleague XX Previews - Round 12
Posted by southstander on April 23 2015 - 08:24:01

While Wigan get this weeks bye with a trip to Wakefield on Thursday night, the rest of the fixtures promise to be more competitive.

The game of the round sees a Friday night SKY encounter between the Rhinos and the Wolves but there are also intrigueing games between Hull FC and the Giants, the Saints and the Vikings and the Dragons at home to Hull KR. We take a look ahead to this weekends action here.....

This week we hit round 12 and as the Super League table take shape we see The Rhinos leading the way six points clear whereas Wakey a cut adrift by four points at the bottom but then thereís only two points separating fourth from tenth.

Here are this weeks previews.

The games donít get any easier for the home side and although they will be a bit more confident after their much needed CC win last time out this is a step up in quality they canít handle.

For the Pies they arrive with a good win over Wire under their belts and all the OTT circus surrounding Rat Boys return but more importantly theyíll see this as a good chance to rack up the points.

The hosts just arenít competitive enough for this type of fixture so keeping the deficit under 50 will be a plus.

After their CC win and knowing they beat the visitors comfortably in week one the B&Wís will be confident going into this game.

For the Giants they crushed the Dragons last time out and will have 4th spot & revenge on their minds this week.

The visitors have been inconsistent whereas the hosts have been at best average so it should be an away win but as weíve seen thus far this season a home win wouldnít be the biggest shock of 2015.

It should be a decent game but I donít think the hosts have enough quality to get the points.

Itís the game of the round as the runaway Leaders meet Wire at HQ who are the only team to beat them in 2015.

The visitors just canít get any consistency going whereas the Blue n Amber are starting to click despite a few key injuries.

Tony Smith will have his team fired up after losing at Wigan last week and they will be confident they know how to win this game.

The Rhinos will want to put the record straight and irrespective of league position they know they can still improve.

It should be a classic game with both teams going for it but I think home advantage will just swing it the hosts way.

After getting dismantled at home last week 2nd placed STís will be looking to bounce back when the Vikings visit Langtree Park.

The visitors arrive after destroying a decent Cas team last week so they certainly wonít be lacking confidence.

On their day the Vikings are capable of beating anybody but their lack of depth and consistency always seems to catch up with them.

A morale boosting win for the home side and staying 2nd should restore some pride this week but bigger tests lay ahead.

The hosts will be desperate to reignite their season when the Robins visit this week.

After another pasting away from home the Dragons need to regroup and desperately need a win to stay in top 8 contention.

For the Robins after their CC win they will arrive confident after taking plenty of scalps over the last few weeks.

Both teams can score points especially the visitors so who turns up ready to defend will be crucial to this result.

Normally the Dragons are very tough at home but they lack confidence and thatís where I think the Robins will take advantage.

After their CC exit and even more suspensions Dr Gob is seeing his big money team struggle and if results go against them they could end the round down in 7th.

For the visitors they will have a point to prove after getting hammered at Widnes last week with the added incentive of 4th place up for grabs.

With both teams at full strength it would be a close game but the Devils lack of depth and balanced squad could be exposed against a fired up Tigers.

A return to winning ways for Powell & co which will highlight where the Devils got their recruitment wrong.
