rhinoms Superleague XVIII Previews - Round 10
Posted by southstander on March 31 2013 - 15:16:35

by rhinoms

We are now a third of the way into the season with nine of the twenty-seven rounds under our belts, and the latest was the strangest of them all with a couple of major upsets.

Will the Bank Holiday games go to plan or will we be in for more shocks?

The likeliest outside bets must be the Rhinos getting a win in France or perhaps Hull KR springing a surprise on a bouyant Wigan Warriors.

It promises to be an action packed Monday.

Read more here....

Just as we are catching our breath after a great start to the Easter double fixture bonanza Part II is already upon us.

Here are Bank Holidays previews.

After a hard fought draw against the Champs the hosts welcome the team who surprised everyone with their victory over the table topping Giants.

The Reds will be very confident after a great win whereas the hosts will feel good after a last gasp try earned them a point at Headingley.

The hosts will expect to win this despite the upturn in the Reds form and I think they'll just have too much despite a good effort by the Reds if they maintain that confidence they showed on Thursday night.

A tough trip for the Champs after a hard fought derby on Thursday but the hosts played the day after getting a close win in London so have had to travel as well.

Missing Webb and Dereau is a big blow for the hosts but they still carry a huge pack and have strike out wide and are extra tough at home. The Champs were visibly deflated after conceding a last minute try that cost them both points last time out so expect a fired up and determined Blue 'n' Amber team.

I think this will be the closest game of the round with two packs ready to rip in and then its a shoot out between the two back units.

I reckon we can just get the job done after our great Play Off win there last season we know how to do it tough and have the strength to face the mental and physical test that awaits.

After getting beat by the Superleague strugglers last week the hosts will be desperate to get their top four challenge back on track when the unfancied Vikings visit the Tetleys stadium. The Visitors along with Salford cause

d a huge upset when they comfortably beat close rivals the highly rated Wire.

This is a big test to see if the hosts can bounce back but also if the Vikings can produce back to back huge wins.

The second game in four days comes into consideration and think that's where the hosts will show more strength and just take the points.

A clash of two big winners from the derby day round at Craven park. Both were worthy and comprehensive winners over their nearest rivals and will be buzzing going into this one.

This is a tough away trip and it isn't made easier after the short turnaround especially with both teams missing crucial players.

Despite a confident home side I think they lack the depth to absorb the injuries they've sustained especially IF it has cost them Dobson and Burns. The Pies look good ,confident and continue to show that their Younger squad members are comfortable at this level.

The visitors just have that bit more quality and I think they will get the win.

Despite injuries and unpredictable form the last place you want to visit after a bitter derby loss is Langtree park.

The hosts put in a credible performance but were obviously below the level of their opponents and that will hurt.

The wagon train wobble into town well and truly on a downward spiral and the squad news isn't good either with at least five of their first seventeen missing.

After getting humped at home they will have to suffer again here because they have nothing capable of getting a win here.

Another long 80 minutes for the visitors.

The triumphant hosts will be fired up and hoping to get back to back wins when the big spending Chumps of Superleague trawl into town.

After another big defeat its hard to see their coach lasting much longer or what the visitors actually have that made so many tip them to challenge for the Trophies this year.

There's also definitely no sign whatsoever despite the injuries what made their naive big mouthed owner to tell everyone they would be world class.

The home side look to be at full strength and that will give them that extra edge in this one as the visitors are lacking quality and fight if they are behind after an hour.

Both lost their respective games on Friday but the hosts will be fired up after losing to the unfancied Vikings whereas the Nags did well despite a 6 point loss.

Tony Rea seems to have made his team more competitive as we expected but they are still way behind the hosts in terms of quality and potential.

The visitors will have a dig but they cant and wont match what the hosts throw at them.
