rhinoms Superleague XVI Previews - Round 27

The last weekend of the regular season and still plenty to play for.

The league leaders shield is still to be decided, fifth to eighth up for graps and even the wooden spoon has come down to the last weekend of the season.

It should be an interesting one.

The last Superleague round takes place this weekend and there still places up for grabs.

Here are my thoughts this week.

After crushing the "Swamp men" last time out confirmed their top 8 spot the smelly hosts will be relieved that they won't have to beat Wire this week. The visitors arrive having put Rat-Boy and "Hot Rocks" -C -sorry Hock in their place and still on course for top spot.

The Reef will be hoping to show sole and scale the heights of the challenge they face this week.

There will be belief in both camps but the true class comes from TS's wolves and the "Trawl of form" will be over for Sponge-bob and co.

A nice easy final game for the Angels from the Pie-dome.

This week the journos have their headlines already written as no doubt Rat-Boy the saviour of English RL will be too good for a team who doesn't give a s#8~.

At least Red Hall had at least some sort of cajones to stand up to the Pie machine when Arc Angel Skeletor was rightly banned no matter how laughable the defence statement was.

A good chance for the home side to show their claws one last time for JK. The pathetic visitors arrive after a crushing win against the non-entity last time out but once again expect their lack of talent and depth to be exposed here.

The home team has shown plenty of heart and resolve this year and I think they should be up there when the team of the year awards are handed out.

For the hosts the season can't end soon enough and "life after MC" maybe isn't as rosy as the 12 loyal die-hards would have us believe.

A chance for St's to rack up the points, work on some combinations and rest some of their better players.

A great fixture for the Red Mullets and home game and a win needed against the Tiggers in freefall for a top 8 spot.

The Robins have hit form at the right time just as the injuries and pathetic performances are hitting the visitors.

A reasonable season for the Banjoes and some great youth un-earthed but they still have Hudson, Mcgoldrick and Fozzard on their books and that highlights a distinct lack of quality.

With 4th sealed this is a "play-off" warm up for the hosts whilst the Blue'n' Amber arrive hoping to grab 5th.

After the early season fixture between the two had plenty of fire and handbags expect even more this week with the visitors determined to put right the good hiding they received at HQ.

O'Donnell should have his travel pillow ready in case he unwisely tries to take liberties with TMFMISL again and the "Wire necked Astra thief " would do well to know his place.

JP will have the Fat Robbie Savage in his sights and the battle between 7's at 9 will add spark around the ruck.

We arrive with a fully fit side this time round but still face a huge task against an in form and very good home team but now's the time to show we can play and beat top 4 teams.

A potential banana skin for the Dragons and they are the guests at the last ever SL game at the Willows.

The home team will be wanting to end on a high and prove to their new coach they are worthy of SL contracts.

With 5th still up for grabs the dragons will hope to fire and grab that spot from under the Rhinos noses.

This really could go either way but I expect the class of the visitors to be too much for the forelorn Reds.
